The first character attracted our attention was the very short P2 (< P6), however, some wing formulae drawings are not accurate for East European birds. Since we have no experience with neither of the two it had a strong yellow tinge in the supercilium, white lores, almost no contrast in ear coverts, brownish olive upperparts, bright yellow underwing coverts, almost no contrast between rump and upper tail coverts, extensive pink on lower mandibules present also on the upper mandible base and edge, and grey-brown leggs.
The bird produced the "hu-it" call when it landed on a nearby bush uppon release. |

Aceste două caractere, deşi minuscule, dar întăresc argumentele, ca pasărea este un Phy bon. (Info: http://www.portlandbirdobs.com/2014/08/16th-august.html)

This was what, beside other, very subtle features point into direction of Ph. bonelli, confirmed that the bird was Western Bonelli's and not Eastern.
